UI/UX Design Cost in India
UI/UX design cost in India for audits, websites, apps and design systems, with typical price ranges, a worked estimate and what makes a design quote grow.

UI/UX design cost in India typically runs from about ₹25,000 for a UX audit of an existing site to ₹1.5 lakh to ₹6 lakh for designing a full mobile or web app, with design systems and research adding to that. Most quotes are built from the number of screens and flows, the amount of user research, and whether you need a reusable design system. This guide gives typical ranges, shows how one estimate adds up and explains where money is well spent.
Typical UI/UX design cost in India by project type
These are typical market ranges in 2026 for Indian freelancers and studios. They move with the designer's experience, the depth of research and how many rounds of changes are included. Use them to judge whether a quote is in a sensible range.
| Project | What you usually get | Typical range (excluding GST) |
|---|---|---|
| UX audit of an existing site or app | Issues with screenshots, ranked fixes | ₹25,000 to ₹1,50,000 |
| Landing page design | One long page for mobile and desktop | ₹10,000 to ₹50,000 |
| Business website design (design only) | 5 to 12 page layouts, mobile and desktop | ₹30,000 to ₹2,00,000 |
| Mobile or web app design | Flows, wireframes, 25 to 60 screens, prototype | ₹1,50,000 to ₹6,00,000 |
| SaaS product or dashboard | Many flows, roles, data-heavy screens | ₹3,00,000 to ₹12,00,000+ |
| Design system | Components, tokens, guidelines in Figma | ₹1,00,000 to ₹5,00,000 |
Hourly rates vary just as much. Junior freelance designers may charge ₹500 to ₹1,000 an hour, while senior product designers and studios often charge ₹1,500 to ₹4,000 or more.
What you are paying for, beyond nice screens
UI is how each screen looks: layout, type, colour, buttons. UX is how the product works: the steps a person takes, what they see first and where they get stuck. Cheap quotes often price only the UI.
A complete design project usually includes:
- Discovery: understanding your users, goals and constraints, and what already exists.
- Research: interviews or usability tests with real users, or at least a review of analytics and support tickets.
- Flows and wireframes: the structure of every key task, agreed before visual design starts.
- Visual design: high-fidelity screens for each size, with every state: empty, loading, error, success.
- Prototype: a clickable version for testing and for showing stakeholders.
- Handoff: an organised Figma file with components, specs and notes developers can build from.
Each stage saves money in the next. Changing a wireframe takes minutes. Changing a screen that has already been built takes a developer days.
A worked estimate: a dashboard for a logistics company
Picture a logistics company in Pithampur that wants a web dashboard for its operations team and a simple mobile app for drivers. The design work might be estimated like this:
| Stage | Hours |
|---|---|
| Discovery and stakeholder calls | 16 |
| Five interviews with dispatchers and drivers | 24 |
| User flows and wireframes (both products) | 50 |
| High-fidelity dashboard screens (about 20) | 70 |
| High-fidelity driver app screens (about 15) | 45 |
| Clickable prototype and one round of testing | 25 |
| Component library and handoff notes | 30 |
| Revisions (two agreed rounds) | 30 |
| Total | 290 |
At ₹1,500 an hour, that comes to ₹4,35,000 before GST. With 18% GST from a registered studio, it is about ₹5.13 lakh.
There are honest ways to bring this down. Skipping the interviews saves ₹36,000, but you then design on guesses about how dispatchers work, and those are exactly the screens that get rebuilt later. A better saving is to cut the driver app to the five screens drivers use daily and design the rest after launch.
What makes a design quote grow
A few things push the price up faster than people expect.
Number of user roles. An app with customers, staff and admins has three sets of screens and permissions, and each one needs its own flows.
Data-heavy screens. Tables, filters, charts and bulk actions in a SaaS dashboard take far longer to design well than a marketing page.
Research depth. Five remote interviews cost a few days. A round of usability testing in two cities costs much more, though it often catches the problems that would be expensive later.
Languages. Designing for Hindi as well as English means checking that layouts hold up with longer words and a different script.
Accessibility. Checking colour contrast, text size and touch targets against WCAG takes time, but it is far cheaper to do in design than to fix in code.
Revisions. Agree the number of revision rounds in writing. Open-ended "changes until you're happy" is how projects run over on both sides.
When you don't need a full design project
A full research-led project is overkill for some situations. If you are building a five-page brochure website, a skilled developer using a good theme and your brand colours may be enough. If you are testing whether anyone wants a product at all, a rough clickable prototype can answer that for a fraction of the cost.
On the other hand, skimping on design for an app is often a false saving. Design is usually a modest share of the total build, and our guide to mobile app development cost in India shows how much larger the development bill is. Changes made after code is written cost several times more than changes made in Figma.
How to compare design quotes
Ask each designer or studio for a written scope that lists the screens and flows, the research included, the number of revision rounds, what you will receive (Figma file, prototype, component library) and who owns the files at the end. You should.
Then look at their past work for products like yours, and ask them to talk you through one project: what they learned from users and what changed because of it. A designer who can explain their decisions will usually save you more than they cost.
FAQ
Is UI/UX design charged per screen in India?
Some freelancers price per screen, often a few thousand rupees each. Studios usually quote per project, because flows, research and design systems don't fit a per-screen price.
How long does UI/UX design take?
A UX audit usually takes one to two weeks, a website design two to four weeks and an app four to ten weeks, depending on the number of flows and the research involved.
Do I own the Figma files after the project?
You should. Make sure the contract says the files, components and prototypes transfer to you at handover, or work in your own Figma workspace from the start.
If you'd like a fixed written quote for your screens and flows, the Amionyx UI/UX Design team works in Figma and hands over files developers can build from, and you can read more about us as a UI/UX design company in Indore.
